Basic Steps After an Accident

1. Document the Scene Safely

Put your safety and the safety of others first. If safe, photograph vehicle positions, plates, road signs and damage from different angles.

2. Call 112 When Needed

If anyone is injured, urgent intervention is needed or the scene is unsafe, call the 112 Emergency Call Centre and follow the operator's instructions.

3. Record the Necessary Details

Where appropriate for an accident report, record the parties' licence, registration and insurance details, and clearly note the location, directions and visible conditions.

4. Report the Work Context

If the accident occurred during or because of work, tell the healthcare provider and your employer. Insurance and reporting conditions vary, so obtain case-specific information from the authorised bodies.

Important notice: This tool is not an emergency-call service and does not provide legal advice. Secure immediate safety first and call 112 in an emergency. Passing the location link to WhatsApp happens only after your choice.
