PsychotechnicalReport
Physical and psychological competence evaluation process that commercial vehicle drivers must undergo every 5 years.
What is a Psychotechnical Report?

The Psychotechnical Evaluation Report is a health report approved by the Ministry of Health, where drivers' mental and psycho-motor abilities ensuring safe driving are measured with special computer-assisted test devices.
Factors such as the driver's reaction speed, distractibility, reasoning ability, and ability to make decisions under stress are tested in a one-hour simulation test and analyzed by an expert psychologist.
Why is it taken? What is its Purpose?
The main purpose of the psychotechnical test is to increase the safety of life and property in traffic. It aims to prevent possible traffic accidents by determining whether the psychological equipment of those working in the commercial driving profession, where factors such as fatigue, stress, and long working hours are common, is sufficient.
Main Skills Measured by the Test:
- Selective Attention and Sustained Attention
- Reasoning and Visual Memory
- Reaction Speed and Coordination
- Speed and Distance Estimation
- Time to Collision Estimation
Who is Required to Have It?
According to Article 34/e of the Road Transport Regulation, it is a legal obligation for the following driver groups to obtain a Psychotechnical report:
- Bus, minibus, taxi and shuttle drivers carrying passengers for commercial purposes
- Truck, lorry, and van drivers carrying goods/cargo for commercial purposes
- Commercial vehicle drivers who will obtain or renew an SRC Certificate
- Trainee (Candidate) drivers whose license was cancelled and want to get a license again
- Drivers whose license was confiscated (in certain cases) due to drunk driving or speed violation
How to Get a Psychotechnical Report? (Process)
The process usually consists of two stages: The test stage and the Psychiatry examination.
Make an Appointment
Get an appointment from our Ministry-approved center and come with your ID and Driver's License.
Take the Test
Take a 1-Hour (60 Min) test on our computer simulator accompanied by an expert Psychologist.
Psychiatry Examination
Within 45 days after the test, you must visit a Psychiatry Specialist at any State Hospital, Private Hospital, or Medical Center and give your e-Government approval. Otherwise, the report will be cancelled.
e-Government Approval
After the approval, your report is directly processed into the e-Government and Police system, eliminating the need to carry a physical document.
Test Content and Duration
The psychotechnical evaluation is performed in specially designed cabins (Vienna Test System, etc.) using a steering wheel, pedals, and buttons.
By law, the test duration is a minimum of 60 minutes. During the test, various shapes, colors, and traffic scenarios are shown on the screen. The driver is expected to give correct and fast reactions by pressing buttons or pedals. It is based on reflexes and attention, not measuring knowledge.
Penalties for Working Without Certificate
Criminal proceedings are applied in traffic inspections to those who drive commercial vehicles but do not have a valid e-Government Psychotechnical report:
Penalty Issued to Driver
3.468 TL
Penalty Issued to Business
8.591 TL
The total penalty exceeds 12,000 TL. Also, the vehicle may be banned (towed) from traffic during the inspection.
