SRC Certificate Guide
Professional competence certificates (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) that everyone using a commercial vehicle must have in accordance with the Road Transport Regulation.
What is an SRC Certificate?

The SRC certificate, named from the consonants of the word "Sürücü" (Driver), is a Professional Competence Certificate that drivers of motor vehicles carrying passengers or goods for commercial purposes under the Road Transport Regulation must obtain.
While a Driver's License authorizes you to drive the vehicle, the SRC certificate authorizes you to conduct "Commercial activity" with that vehicle.
What are the SRC Certificate Types?
Depending on your field of activity (Passenger / Goods and Domestic / International), the certificate types are divided into 5 main headings:
International Passenger Transport
For drivers using cross-border buses, minibuses, and commercial vehicles. Also covers the SRC 2 certificate.
Domestic Passenger Transport
For drivers using inner-city and intercity minibuses, buses, taxis, and shuttle vehicles.
International Goods-Cargo Transport
For drivers doing international logistics with trucks, lorries, and vans. Also covers the SRC 4 certificate.
Domestic Goods-Cargo Transport
For drivers carrying loads and goods with trucks, vans, and panel vans within national borders.
Dangerous Goods Transport (ADR)
For drivers carrying fuel, chemicals, explosives, etc. You must first have an SRC 3 or SRC 4 certificate to get an SRC 5.
Who is Required to Have It?
All drivers carrying passengers or goods with a vehicle that has "Commercial" written on its license are obliged to get this certificate.
- Lorry, Truck and Van (Panel van) drivers
- Bus, Minibus and Shuttle drivers
- Taxi drivers
Business owners who carry "their own cargo" with a commercial vehicle (e.g., carpenters carrying goods for their own shop) must get an SRC certificate. Only the authorization certificate type changes (e.g., K2 authorization certificate).
How to Get Exam-Based SRC? (Process)
Drivers who obtained their license after February 25, 2003, must receive training from our institution and attend exams held by the Ministry of National Education (MEB).
Course Registration

Theoretical Training
Mandatory theoretical classroom training of 28 to 36 hours (avg. 4 days) is completed based on the applied SRC type.
MEB Exam
Take the multiple-choice exam (40 questions). The visual/practical exam has been abolished; scoring at least 60 points in the test is sufficient to pass.
E-Government Approval
Certificates of successful candidates are directly registered to the e-Government system.
⚠️ Important Legal Rules
Current Age Limits
The minimum age is 18 for freight and 24 for bus driving. The upper limit, originally 66, is extended up to 66 by current rules.
Psychotechnical Necessity
For the SRC certificate to be legally valid, the driver must have an e-Government approved Psychotechnical Report. If one is missing, both are invalid.
Double-Sided Traffic Fine
In case of lacking an SRC certificate, the fine is not only issued to the driver but also a high administrative fine is imposed on the employing company.
Penalties for Working Without Certificate
According to the legislation, an administrative fine is issued to those driving commercial vehicles without an SRC certificate. Moreover, this fine is applied separately to both the driver and the licensed business (company).
Do not go into traffic without a certificate to avoid being considered heavily at fault in inspections and accidents.
