What is an SRC Courier Certificate?

The SRC Courier Certificate is a mandatory "Professional Competence Certificate" for drivers carrying courier or cargo shipments for commercial purposes with motorcycle and moped class vehicles within the scope of Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure regulations.

This certificate was officially defined and made mandatory in the courier sector with the regulation published in the Official Gazette dated January 29, 2026. Previously, the SRC 4 certificate was considered sufficient for this job, but with the new regulation, a special certificate specifically for "Motorcycle Couriers" was created.

The certificate can be obtained through Private Transport Services Vocational Training Courses authorized by the Ministry of National Education (MEB).

What is the Difference Between SRC Courier and SRC 4?

The most confusing issue in the sector is the difference between the SRC 4 certificate obtained by drivers carrying cargo with pickup trucks and the newly introduced SRC Courier certificate.

SRC Courier Certificate

  • Only Motorcycles and Mopeds
  • 25 Hours Training (21 theoretical + 4 practical)
  • Theoretical Exam Only
  • Cannot drive a pickup truck.

SRC 4 Certificate

  • Truck, Pickup Truck, Panel Van
  • 36 Hours Training (All theoretical)
  • Theoretical + Video Exam
  • Cannot work as a Motorcycle Courier.

Attention: Even if you have a previously obtained SRC 4 certificate, if you are working as a courier with a "Motorcycle", this certificate is no longer valid. You are legally required to obtain the SRC Courier certificate.

  • A total of 40 questions are asked in the exam.
  • All questions are multiple-choice (Test).
  • A minimum of 60 points (24 correct answers) is required to be successful.
  • Wrong answers do not cancel out correct answers, so it is recommended not to leave them blank.
  • Candidates have 8 attempts to pass the exam.
